First Photo Released of Father Slain in Brutal Acton Gang Attack
Horrific Early Morning Assault
Police rushed to Birkbeck Road, Acton, shortly after 4am on Sunday, 8 December, following reports of a violent brawl and possible gunshots. They found 33-year-old Nash Clyne, a father of three, fatally wounded after being chased by a gang armed with a tomahawk axe and broken glass bottles.
Witnesses say Nash staggered nearly 100 metres from Acton High Street but tragically died at the scene. The gang’s savage attack also left at least three others injured, who were rushed to trauma centres with non-life-threatening wounds.
Shocking Eyewitness Accounts
A 24-year-old waiter who called the police described the chilling scene: “I heard screaming and shouting… then saw a man with a tomahawk chasing another guy bleeding from his eyebrow. The attackers were relentless.”
One witness claimed the violence began at a local barbershop where a birthday party was underway, before spilling onto the street.
Tributes Pour In for Nash Clyne
Nash, originally from Grenada, is mourned by friends and family across the community. Childhood friend Shevonte Thomas recalled:
“He was a great, cool guy… a nice, quiet guy who loved cooking and football.”
Carlos Davis posted on social media:
“Oh my god, RIP young bro, sleep with the angels.”
Meanwhile, Tyrone Hypolite said:
“Just last week for my birthday, we were chilling in the club. Can’t believe it.”
A neighbour added: “He wasn’t young. He was like a father figure here. People really looked up to him.”
Murder Probe Launched – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the murder investigation under Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie. DCI Howie appealed:
“We’re in the early stages and determined to bring Nash’s killers to justice. Anyone at the Front Line Cuts or Paradise Cuts barbershops on Acton High Street between 10pm Saturday and 4.30am Sunday must come forward. Even the smallest detail could be crucial.”
