Kara Tointon Tears Ligament Filming Channel 5 Drama

Former EastEnders star Kara Tointon has revealed she suffered a serious injury while filming a stunt for Channel 5’s new drama Too Good To Be True.

The actress, best known for playing Dawn Swann on the BBC soap, tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during a stunt gone wrong. Despite her gymnastics training, Kara’s knee buckled and she fell, leaving her in agony.

Struggles to Walk but Still Hits the Dance Floor

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Kara said the injury left her struggling to walk during the final two weeks of shooting. She even missed the show’s wrap party but showed true grit by attempting to dance despite the pain.

From EastEnders to Channel 5 Drama

  • Kara played Dawn Swann on EastEnders from 2005 to 2009, starring in gripping plots including her character’s abduction.
  • Since leaving, she’s appeared in shows such as Mr Selfridge, Bedlam, and The Halcyon.
  • She also won 2010’s “Strictly Come Dancing,” dazzling audiences on the dance floor.

Kara Rules Out EastEnders Return

When asked about a comeback to Albert Square, Kara told The Sun she’s grateful for her EastEnders fame but wants to focus on new acting challenges instead. She doesn’t expect to return to the soap.
