Police launched an urgent investigation after a grim incident at a Monarch Parade home in Mitcham on Tuesday afternoon.
Toddler Dies, Woman Fighting for Life
At 4pm on 30 June, officers and ambulance crews rushed to the scene following reports of two injuries. Inside the property, a 35-year-old woman and a four-year-old girl were found hurt.
The child was rushed to hospital but tragically died shortly after arrival. The woman remains in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Crime Scene Active as Police Probe Incident
Next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem on the little girl is planned. A crime scene remains in place as detectives continue their investigation.
So far, police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the case. No arrests have been made, but enquiries are ongoing.
