Two More Teens Arrested Over Primrose Hill Murder
Detectives investigating Harry Pitman’s murder on Primrose Hill have arrested two more teenagers. On Thursday, 4 January, following a public appeal, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old turned themselves in at a west London police station. Both remain in custody on suspicion of murder.
Fast-Moving Inquiry Into New Year’s Eve Killing
Harry was fatally stabbed shortly before 11.40pm on 31 December 2023. He had been with friends near the Primrose Hill viewing platform watching New Year fireworks when a fight broke out.
Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, leading the probe, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation. My team is working around the clock to find those responsible. This is a significant development, and we are keeping Harry’s family informed.”
No Gang or Racial Motive, Police Say
DCI Grogan added: “Our enquiries show no racial or gang links. It appears to have been a spontaneous fight between strangers that spiralled into deadly violence.”
Three earlier arrests – aged 15, 16 and 18 – have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Public Plea: Help Crack the Case
The detective urged anyone with footage or information to come forward. “The public response has been exceptional so far, but we still need help identifying people seen at the scene.”
