Gun Fired in Leigh After Car Chase Ends in Firearms Drama
Police have launched a probe after shots were fired during a violent scuffle in Leigh in the dead of night.
Firearms Discharge Rocks St Helens Road
Just after 1am on Sunday, September 24, Greater Manchester Police were called to St Helens Road, Leigh, following a reported firearms incident. A dispute between two men escalated quickly, with one allegedly using a stolen vehicle.
Four Shots Fired in Targeted Attack
During the confrontation, one man is said to have fired a gun four times. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported among the public or those involved. Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst described the incident as a “targeted and isolated attack” but warned it was “concerning” for the community.
