Dog Walker Targeted by Suspicious Man in Caerleon Road

Police are on the case after a woman was approached by a suspicious man while walking her dog in St Julians this morning. The incident happened at 9.25am on Caerleon Road, where the man began asking odd questions about her dog.

Woman and Dog Walk Away Unharmed

The woman and her dog quickly walked off without harm. The man is described as a white male in his 30s, with dark hair and wearing a baseball cap. He left the scene in an off-white Audi A1, followed by a dark grey van bearing orange writing.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Officers are urging anyone who spotted the vehicles near Caerleon Road or Heather Road to come forward. PC Kate Jenkins said, “Understandably, reports of this nature are very concerning to dog owners and we would like to reassure residents that they are being investigated thoroughly.”

While Gwent Police haven’t had recent dog theft reports locally, there’s been a rise nationwide. Owners are warned to be vigilant and report suspicious activity to 101, quoting reference 2100055243, or dial 999 in emergencies.
