Fourth Decapitated Cat Shocker in Portsmouth – Police Turned Away Resident’s Report
A grim discovery in Portsmouth: a fourth cat has been found decapitated, this time in Marmion Road, Southsea. But when the resident tried to report the horror to Hampshire Police, they refused to take the case, passing the buck to Portsmouth City Council instead.
This comes in the middle of a major ongoing police probe. The Metropolitan Police are investigating the brutal murder and mutilation of over 250 cats, with connections now emerging in Portsmouth – including one confirmed and three possible cases linked to this grisly spree.
Hampshire Police Pass the Buck
The shocked resident vented their fury on Facebook: “I’ve contacted Hampshire Constabulary to inform them that a cat has been purposely decapitated down Marmion Road. Apparently it’s a council problem not ‘a police issue’!!! Absolutely unbelievable! What kind of absolute vile c**t does that?!”
Later, after more contact with police, they posted: “Just spoke to the guy dealing with the case now. He’s coming down tonight to examine the body. He said the Met Police have looked into it and Hampshire Constabulary should have acted! I’m so happy my tax money pays for them to sit there handing out speeding tickets instead of catching some obviously deranged individual! Any boys in blue reading this, take note! This is why no one calls you anymore – you’re as useful as a chocolate fire guard!”
Police Stay Mum, Then Confirm Investigation
Reached for comment, Hampshire Police initially refused to speak about the case. But they later confirmed the incident is now linked to two other cat killings in their force area. One happened overnight 3–4 April in Atlanta Close, Southsea, and another overnight 22–23 July 2016 in Avenue Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight.
The cases are believed connected to Operation Takahe, a wider investigation into a string of cat deaths around Croydon and the M25 carried out by the Metropolitan Police.
Sergeant Tony Jeacock urged the public: “We are investigating all possible leads. Anyone aware of other cat killings should call 101.”
Portsmouth’s Cat Killer Still at Large
- Four decapitated cats now found in and around Portsmouth.
- Hampshire Police initially refuse to take reports, shrugging responsibility.
- Met Police leading a major investigation into 250-plus mutilated cats.
- Public urged to report suspicious activity immediately to 101.
The trail of blood and terror continues, but with police confusion and finger-pointing, residents are left fearful – and furious – as they wait for Hampshire’s boys in blue to step up and catch Portsmouth’s chilling cat killer.
