A man was snapped up by armed police just minutes after storming a Birmingham shop brandishing a knife and threatening shoppers.
Knife Threat Sparks Armed Response
Officers rushed to Washwood Heath Road shortly before 11am on 22 August after reports of a man entering a mini market with a blade.
Chase Ends in Park Arrest at Gunpoint
The knifeman bolted to a nearby park but was quickly tracked down by police on the scene. At gunpoint, the 25-year-old was arrested without incident.
Police Praise Quick Action, No Injuries Reported
Superintendent Jack Hadley said: “This was a very dynamic incident and it was imperative we got officers to the scene to apprehend the man and protect the public.
“Thankfully no-one was hurt and the suspect was swiftly traced to a park area where he was handcuffed and arrested.”
The suspect is now in custody as investigations continue.
