Snow Alert: South East Braces for Heavy Flurries

Get ready, South East! Forecasters have warned of heavy snow hitting parts of the region. Many areas will see at least light showers, but the big chill is just getting started.

Freezing Temperatures to Stick Around

Temperatures are set to hover around a chilly 3°C and plunge below zero tonight (Friday, December 9). Expect this cold snap to continue throughout the weekend and into next week.

When Will It Snow?

  • Wednesday, December 14: Sleet showers expected in parts of Kent and Surrey from early afternoon.
  • Thursday, December 15: Heavy snow showers predicted in the early hours — don’t be surprised if you wake up to a white blanket.
  • Friday, December 16: Light snow forecast across West London, continuing into Saturday morning.
  • Saturday, December 17: Snow showers will hit East London overnight, with heavy snow around 10 a.m. Sleet showers will affect other parts of the South East too.

The Met Office has issued a heavy snow warning for London and the South East. With temperatures dropping below freezing, it’s wise to prepare for icy roads and travel disruptions.
