Heavy Police Descend on Forest Hill After Supermarket Shoplifting Spree

A major police operation unfolded on London Road, Forest Hill, this morning, with multiple arrests made following a dramatic incident at a local supermarket.

Two Arrested After Shoplifting Drama

At around 9.49am on Thursday, October 31, officers from the Metropolitan Police swooped in after reports of shoplifting at Sainsbury’s near the local roundabout. Witnesses spotted two police response cars and two vans blocking the area as the Met launched their investigation.

A Met Police spokesman confirmed: “Officers found a man and a woman, both in their 40s, detained by supermarket security staff. Both were arrested and taken to a south London police station.”

The scene remained heavily guarded as detectives continue probing the incident. No further details about the arrests have been released yet.
