Lorry Driver Arrested After Horror A331 Crash Leaves Two Fighting for Life

Emergency crews are battling to rescue trapped victims following a nasty smash on the A331 near Farnborough. The crash, involving a lorry and a silver BMW 320 Convertible, happened shortly after 6.45pm on Saturday.

Rescue Teams Dig Out Injured After High-Speed Collision

Firefighters from Surrey and Hampshire raced to the scene, using cutting gear to free those trapped inside the wrecked car. Two people – a man and a woman – were pulled from the vehicle with serious injuries. An ambulance and air ambulance rushed one victim to hospital, while police removed another.

Massive Police Presence As A331 Shuts Down

Police from both Surrey and Hampshire, alongside Highways England officers, scrambled 12 patrol cars to the scene. They’ve shut the northbound A331 at Frimley junction and closed the southbound route heading towards the M3. Drivers are warned to steer clear of the area, especially avoiding joining the A331 at Mytchett, with huge delays reported back to Farnborough Gate Retail Park.

Lorry Driver Arrested – Investigation Underway

Police confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the crash. A spokesperson said,

“We are appealing for witnesses after a collision on the northbound A331 at Farnborough Gate. The collision between an HGV and a BMW took place at around 6.45pm on Saturday 22 July. The male driver and female passenger of the car sustained serious injuries. The driver of the HGV has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.”

The A331 is expected to remain closed until early Sunday morning while investigators comb the scene. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting Incident 782 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
