Swede Arrested at Stansted Over Terrorism Suspicion
Met’s Counter Terrorism Command swooped at Stansted Airport yesterday morning. A 34-year-old Swedish man was stopped under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act after landing from Stockholm just before 8am on 19 December.
Suspected Terror Material Found
Officers arrested the man on suspicion of possessing information likely to aid terrorism. The arrest falls under section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000, targeting those preparing or planning terror acts.
Man Held in Custody
He was taken to an Essex police station and remains in custody under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) as investigations continue.
