Man Nabbed Over Terror Probe Released Under Investigation

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences linked to the Syrian conflict, but has now been released under investigation.

Arrest Made at UK Border

The suspect was detained by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command shortly after arriving in Folkestone from France on a coach at around 12:50am on Tuesday, 1 May. He was arrested under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Released After Brief Detention

After being taken to a Kent police station and held under PACE regulations, the man was released later the same day. The investigation continues.
