Acid Assault Shocks North London Street

A man in his 40s was left injured after two suspects sprayed acid in his face and mugged him for his mobile phone on a busy north London street.

The horrifying attack happened at 10.30am on Friday on High Road, Whetstone, Barnet. Police rushed to the scene after the victim was doused with a noxious substance.

Victim Rushed to Hospital

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to police, the two attackers approached him before spraying the acid and snatching his phone.

They quickly fled the scene, leaving the man battered but alive.

Another Acid Attack Hits Brixton

This incident comes just days after a similar acid attack in Brixton, where a woman in her 20s was sprayed near the underground station.

Police are urging anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 2368/11MAY or tweet @MetCC.
