Met Police Urge Russell Brand Accusers to Step Forward
The Metropolitan Police have weighed in on the shocking sexual assault allegations against comedian Russell Brand. They’re now urging anyone who claims to be a victim to come forward and report their experiences.
Four Women Accuse Brand of Sexual Assault
Four women have publicly accused Brand of sexual assaults alleged to have taken place between 2006 and 2013, when the comedian was at the height of his fame. The explosive claims surfaced during a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches. Brand has fiercely denied all allegations.
Met Police Ready to Act
A spokesperson for the Met said:
“We are aware of media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault. At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this. If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police.”
The Met also revealed talks with The Sunday Times on September 16 to coordinate outreach, ensuring anyone sharing experiences with the media knows how to report to police.
Bigger Backlash as TV Giants Probe Brand
Following these bombshell allegations, Channel 4 and production company Banijay UK have launched formal investigations. Meanwhile, the BBC—where Brand worked between 2006 and 2008—is said to be “urgently looking into the issues raised.”
With the spotlight intensifying, Brand faces mounting pressure as police and broadcasters take the claims seriously.
