Pounds £11,000 Worth of Drugs Seized After Daring Foot Chase in Town Centre
On Thursday 28 January, at about 2pm, PCs Millis Miller and Storm Brand were on foot patrol when they spotted a man who promptly tried to flee. But the officers were quick on the draw, detaining him and searching him under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Massive Haul of Drugs Nabbed
The stash was staggering: around £10,000 in cash, £850 worth of cannabis, and over £500 worth of MDMA. The 32-year-old local was arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply Class A and B drugs and taken to Melksham Police Station for questioning.
Police Warn: Drugs Ruin Lives and Communities
He’s since been released under investigation, but PC Millis Miller stressed the impact of the bust. “This is a positive, proactive result stopping a huge quantity of drugs hitting the streets and harming our community,” he said.
“I cannot stress enough how much damage and disruption drugs cause. They bring serious health risks and drag young, vulnerable people into anti-social behaviour and violence tied to gangs.”
