Murder probe launched after woman found dead at Hampshire home
A chilling murder investigation is underway after a woman in her 60s was found dead in Millbrook, Hampshire.
Two arrested in shocking killing
The victim’s body was discovered yesterday at a property on Mansel Road East. Police quickly swooped, arresting a 48-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody as detectives dig deeper.
Police promise answers and reassurances
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton, leading the inquiry, said: “We are still in the early stages and officers are carrying out extensive enquiries to piece together exactly what happened.”
She added: “We believe this was an isolated incident. There is no wider threat to the community.”
Community urged to come forward
Superintendent Phil Lamb, district commander for Southampton, acknowledged the spike in local fears following last week’s attempted murder in the city centre.
“Understandably, this will cause concern among residents. But we have deployed extra officers from across the force to support patrols and liaise with communities.”
