Wiltshire PCC Sends Support After Swindon Tragedy

Thoughts With Family and Community

Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson, expressed deep sympathy for the family affected and the local community in Summers Street, Swindon.

“My thoughts are with the family of the deceased and the community,” he said, acknowledging the shock and distress caused by the incident.

Call for Calm as Investigation Underway

Macpherson stressed the importance of allowing the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) the time and space they need to carry out a thorough, independent probe into the matter.

“It’s crucial the IOPC can investigate without interference,” he added, explaining that Wiltshire Police and his office will not comment further while inquiries continue.

Thanks to Community and Police

He also thanked local residents for their patience amid ongoing disruptions linked to the investigation. “We understand the inconvenience caused and appreciate the community’s understanding,” said Macpherson.

All officers and staff involved are receiving full welfare support from Wiltshire Police during this difficult time.
