Shocking Attack Near Garsdale Bridge After Dog Scuffle
A peaceful walk turned violent on Monday 5 April 2021 at around 1pm near Garsdale Bridge. A man in his 70s and a woman were approached by two dogs – a bulldog-type and a small black and tan Terrier-style. The elderly man gently moved one dog away with his foot to avoid tripping.
Shouted Abuse Sparks Brutal Assault
A nearby man sitting on a bench suddenly shouted abuse at the pensioner, despite his explanation. The bench sitter was with a white woman in her mid-30s, sporting shoulder-length blonde hair, a pink zip-up hooded top, and tight grey trousers, plus a young boy.
The couple carried on their walk, only to be confronted again when the man from the bench got out of a black car – similar to a Nissan Juke – parked on Home Road.

The victim needed hospital treatment for bruising sustained in the assault.
