Car Chaos in Kent: 11 Vehicles Torched in Suspicious Blazes

Series of Blaze Strikes Newcastle Hill and Surrounding Roads

Just past midnight on Monday 14 March 2022, Kent Police were alerted by Kent Fire and Rescue Service about a car on fire in Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate. The blaze was immediately flagged as suspicious.

That was just the start. Fires quickly erupted on Finsbury Road, Broad Street, Ann’s Road, Church Road, and Denmark Hill. Among the damaged vehicles was a campervan with people inside. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Eleven Vehicles Damaged, Two Men Arrested

In total, 11 vehicles were targeted and damaged by the fires. Cops swooped and, with help from CCTV footage, arrested two men from Ramsgate. One now faces charges while the other was released without charge.

Police Seek Public Help to Crack the Case

Kent Police want anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage from the affected streets around the time of the incidents to come forward. This crucial evidence could help pinpoint the culprits.
