Kent Police were called on the morning of Monday 2 May 2022 after St John the Evangelist Church in Kingsdown was broken into overnight. Thieves stole a unique lectern shaped like a bird, leaving the community stunned.
Police Hunt for Clues and Witnesses
Officers are actively investigating the theft. They urge anyone who spotted suspicious activity, has dashcam or doorbell footage, or has been offered the bird lectern for sale to come forward immediately. Call 01843 222289 and quote reference 46/82974/22.

The Mirror can reveal that he was convicted of unlawful wounding and common assault at Maidstone Crown Court in December 2023, in relation to an attack on a woman and a man. Treeby was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years, a court official confirmed.
