Manhunt Underway for Suspected Rapist and Burglar in Hulme

Police are hunting Courtney Adams, wanted over a brutal rape and burglary on Wilmott Street, Hulme. The terrifying attack happened at around 5am on Tuesday, 29 November.

CCTV Released to Pin Down Suspect

Detective Superintendent David Meeney urged anyone who sees him or knows where he is to get in touch immediately.

“We are very keen to speak to this man, and stress any members of the public who see him or know his whereabouts should contact police. In an emergency always call 999,” said Meeney.

Known Haunts and Safety Advice

Adams is linked to Hulme and Ardwick and is known to frequent the Oxford Road corridor from Manchester City Centre to Rusholme.

Detectives are warning locals to keep doors and windows locked, especially at night.

“The victim was subjected to a horrific ordeal and is being supported by specialist officers,” Meeney added. “Offences of this nature are very rare, and this is being treated as an isolated incident, but I would urge people to make sure their doors and windows are securely closed, especially during darkness.”
