Pensioner Seriously Injured After Collision with Single-Decker Bus in Southampton

Police are urgently seeking witnesses after an 88-year-old man was hit by a single-decker First bus in Southampton.

Collision Details

The shocking incident happened around 9:30am on Friday, October 21. The elderly man was crossing at the busy junction of 1 High Street and Park Road when the collision occurred. He sustained serious leg injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Southampton General Hospital.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

PC Carl Osman said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this collision between a First bus and a pedestrian to come forward. The area would have been extremely busy at that time of day and it is very likely that lots of people would have seen what happened.”

He added, “I would also like to speak to any drivers who were in the area who may have dashcam footage. If you have any information, please get in touch and help us with our enquiries.”
