Man Arrested After Fatal Crash on A31 in East Dorset
A man has been arrested following a deadly road crash on the A31 near Sturminster Marshall, Dorset Police confirmed.
Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle and Two Vans
The smash happened at 8.46am on Tuesday, 30 April 2019, outside Henbury Stud Farm. A green Kawasaki motorcycle, a white Ford Transit panel van, and a white Citroen Relay dropside lorry were all involved.
Tragically, the motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Poole, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles escaped serious injury.
Arrest Made, Investigation Ongoing
A 41-year-old man from Poole is in police custody, suspected of causing death by careless driving and perverting the course of justice. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Inspector Joe Pardey of the traffic unit said: “Our investigations into the circumstances surrounding this collision remain ongoing. We urge anyone who witnessed the crash or the driving leading up to it to get in touch. We also want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time.”
