Taxi Targeted by Flying Concrete Slab in Shocking Glenrothes Attack

Police in Glenrothes are hunting witnesses after a taxi was hit by a concrete slab thrown from a pedestrian flyover. The terrifying attack happened just after midnight on Sunday, August 6, on the B921 road heading to Kinglassie.

The slab smashed into the moving taxi, injuring a 37-year-old man and woman inside. Both victims were rushed to Glenrothes Hospital for treatment.

Not the First Incident: Wheelie Bin Attacks Hit Same Spot

This isn’t an isolated event. Officers are probing two other similar attacks at the same flyover where vehicles were struck by wheelie bins hurled from above.

  • First attack: Around 1am, Sunday, July 16
  • Second attack: About 3:55am, Wednesday, July 19

Luckily, nobody was hurt in these earlier incidents, but cars suffered damage.

Police Plea: Step Forward With Information

Inspector Kirk Donnelly from Glenrothes Police Station slammed these reckless acts. He warned of the serious risks and urged anyone with info to contact police immediately.

“These dangerous actions have caused injuries and could have had even more severe consequences,” said Inspector Donnelly. “If you saw anything or know something that could help, please get in touch.”

Witnesses can call 101 quoting case number 0108 of August 6. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
