Police Hunt Witness Who Filmed Brutal Herne Bay Assault

Officers are desperately trying to find a witness believed to have captured a violent attack on their phone in Herne Bay.

Woman Pummeled in Parked Car on Mortimer Street

The terrifying assault happened between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, 27 March 2023. The victim, a woman, was sat inside a stationary black Peugeot when she opened the car door. A man she knew, standing outside on Mortimer Street, then launched a series of punches, repeatedly striking her.

Suspect Arrested, Police Seek More Clues

Just two days later, on Wednesday 29 March, police arrested a 32-year-old man from Herne Bay in connection with the attack. Detectives believe a passer-by recorded the incident on their mobile and are urging that person to come forward.
