Van Mounts Kerb, Hits Man in His 20s
Just after 2.45am on 23rd May, police rushed to the scene where a white van had jumped a kerb and smashed into a man in his 20s. The driver narrowly missed a second man nearby.
Serious Head Injuries – But No Life-Threatening Damage
Officers found the victim with serious head injuries. He was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The second man escaped unharmed.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Police say several witnesses were likely nearby and may have seen or heard the crash. They want anyone with info to help with their investigation.
27-Year-Old Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge
A 27-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving, and driving over the alcohol limit. He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
