Knife-wielding thugs storm Brighton shop but flee empty-handed
Terrifying robbery attempt at County Oak Post Office
Just after 10.30am on 24 February 2022, two masked men on a red scooter rocked up at a Brighton post office on Carden Avenue. Armed with knives, they barged inside and threatened shop workers, demanding the till be opened.
Staff fight back, robbers scarper
But the crooks got more than they bargained for. After a tense struggle — during which one female staff member hurt her hand — the pair fled the shop empty-handed. Police say they made off northbound along Carden Avenue on the scooter.
Suspects described
- Wearing all-black jackets
- Tracksuit bottoms and trainers
- Helmets covering their faces
