Late-Night Assault Shocks Town Centre
Just after 10pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, a man in his 30s was attacked while walking from the train station into town along Station Road.
Three Suspects Target Victim with Phone Lights
The victim was followed by three individuals who used their phone lights to track him down, shouting aggressively. Near the Tannery Lane junction, one suspect lunged forward and punched the man.
Violent Assault Leaves Man Injured
Despite trying to escape, the victim was caught by two boys who continued to assault him, leaving him with facial injuries. Fortunately, a passing motorist came to his aid and took him to safety.
Police Hunt Two Teenage Attackers and Accomplice
- The suspects are believed to be boys aged 16 to 19.
- One was white, wearing a grey top pulled over his face.
- The other was mixed race, clad all in black, and sporting a yellow ski mask.
- They were accompanied by a third individual.
