Bomb Squad Blowup After Suspicious Van Outside Bromley Police Station

Early Thursday, Bromley Police plunged into chaos over a badly parked white Ford Transit van left outside the rear of their station. Alarm bells rang just before 3am when officers spotted the suspicious vehicle blocking the pavement near Mason’s Hill.

Area Locked Down As Specialists Called In

The Met wasted no time. They sealed off Kentish Way and Mason’s Hill, shutting down roads and calling in bomb disposal experts. Officers smashed a front window and ripped open the van’s rear doors before donning bombproof suits to comb through every inch.

False Alarm as Van Clears Threat Check

Thankfully, the explosive scare ended without incident. A Met Police spokesperson said:

“At approximately 2.40am on Thursday, officers attended a suspicious vehicle close to Masons Hill in Bromley. The vehicle was found to be non-suspicious. Roads were temporarily closed but have since reopened.”

Still, the scare proves even a dodgy parking job outside a police station can spark a full-blown bomb alert.
