Hampshire Police Hunt Brutal Petrol Station Attacker – CCTV Released

Midnight Mayhem at Southampton BP Station

Hampshire Police have launched a manhunt after a brazen attempted robbery at a Southampton petrol station. The crime unfolded in the dead of night on February 1, 2025, at the BP station on portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth Road, Woolston.

The suspect targeted a teenage boy between 2:09 AM and 2:10 AM, violently attacking and threatening him during the ordeal.

Thug’s Shocking Assault Thwarted by Hero Bystander

The suspect didn’t hold back. Witnesses say he:

  • Punched the victim in the head
  • Spat at the teenager
  • Demanded the youngster hand over his motorcycle keys
  • Made a fast getaway in a taxi after intervention

Thankfully, a courageous bystander stepped in, stopping the robbery dead in its tracks. No items were stolen in the chaotic scene, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed.

“Thanks to a brave member of the public, this attack was prevented from escalating,” said Detective Inspector Sarah Thompson.

Police have released images and a description of the accused, urging the public to help identify him:

  • White male, around 40s
  • Standing approximately 6’3” tall
  • Athletic build
  • Black, cropped hair with a beard
