Five Men Arrested After Southampton Murder

Police in Hampshire have arrested five men in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old in Southampton. The victim died following a serious assault on Langhorn Road yesterday afternoon.

What Happened?

At 12:21pm on 24 July, officers rushed to Langhorn Road after reports of a violent attack on a local 19-year-old man. The victim sustained a puncture wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

The Arrests

  • A 46-year-old man from Bursledon was arrested for murder and assisting an offender.
  • A 20-year-old man from Bursledon was also arrested on suspicion of murder.
  • A 20-year-old man from Hamble arrested on suspicion of murder.
  • A 23-year-old man from Eastleigh arrested on suspicion of murder.
  • A 35-year-old man from Lambeth arrested on suspicion of murder.

All five remain in police custody as inquiries continue.

Ongoing Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses

Police have cordoned off Langhorn Road and are patrolling the area to reassure locals. Investigations are also underway at addresses on Le Marechal Avenue in Southampton and Westfield Road in Hamble.

“We take all incidents of serious violence in Southampton extremely seriously,” said Detective Chief Inspector Danielle Daltrey. “Our sympathies go out to the family of the deceased. The investigation is in its early stages, but we do not believe there is a wider risk to the public.”
