Sussex Police Hunt Witnesses After Indecent Acts at Brighton’s Nudist Beach
Sussex Police are on the lookout for witnesses after two men were spotted behaving indecently at Brighton’s official nudist beach.
Shocking Incident at Dukes Mound
The incident happened on Thursday, 11 July, at Dukes Mound – the designated clothing-optional stretch off Marine Parade, just east of Brighton Pier.
A nearby beachgoer described the uneasy encounter: “A woman came up and said, ‘Well, you’re the best view on the beach, aren’t you?’” It was only later that disturbing footage surfaced showing two men acting indecently.
Police Appeal for Information
Sussex Police have been in touch with the witness and invited her to provide a formal statement. No arrests have been made so far.
Officers urge anyone who was in the Dukes Mound area on the evening of 11 July – especially anyone with video footage – to come forward. Quote reference 247 of 11/07 when contacting Sussex Police.
Respect is Key, Warn Police
Dukes Mound is one of the UK’s few officially recognised naturist beaches. But police remind visitors that indecent exposure or acts intended to cause alarm remain criminal offences, even in clothing-optional areas.
“All public spaces must be used respectfully,” Sussex Police stressed.
