Fire Erupts at Newark’s Old Piano School – Massive Blaze Causes Major Damage

Emergency Called to Blaze in Appleton Gate

Emergency crews rushed to The Old Piano School on Appleton Gate, Newark, just after 7.30pm on Wednesday (18 May) evening.

No Injuries but Building Heavily Damaged

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire, but significant damage was caused to the historic building. Nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Detective Inspector Nicholas Hall from Nottinghamshire Police said:

“This was a large fire that led to the evacuation of several neighbouring properties. We are currently working with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to understand how this blaze started. We would like to hear from anyone who was either in the area at the time or who has additional information on what happened.”
