Police Find Mercedes Used in Fatal Brixton Hit-and-Run

Detectives have recovered the black Mercedes-Benz C 250 Sport Edition at the centre of a deadly hit-and-run in Brixton. The vehicle, spotted with a smashed wing mirror and damage to its A-pillar and windscreen, struck a 20-year-old woman before fleeing the scene.

Car Abandoned Just Two Roads from Crash Site

The Mercedes was found abandoned on Brailsford Road, just moments from where the collision happened on Brixton Hill.

Police Pursuit Ends in Tragedy

  • Officers signalled for the Mercedes to stop, but it sped away instead.
  • The vehicle hit a young woman at approximately 10.46pm on Wednesday, 19 February.
  • The driver did not stop after the collision and fled on foot.

Victim Dies at the Scene

Tragically, the woman in her twenties died at the scene. Police are now informing her family while investigations continue.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified as part of routine procedures. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and any passengers involved.
