Police Release Shocking Bus Sex Attack Suspect Image
Detectives hunting a sexual assault suspect on a London bus have blasted a photo of the man they want to quiz.
Sex Attack Shocks Passengers on Route 150
The terrifying incident happened around 7pm on Sunday, 21 January, aboard the route 150 bus on Green Lane, heading eastbound from Ilford Town Centre.
A 26-year-old woman had just sat near the back when the suspect climbed on near Ilford Cinema and plonked himself next to her. Without warning, he sexually assaulted her – only stopping when she shouted out for help.
Victim Snaps Suspect Before He Flees
The quick-thinking victim managed to snap a clear picture of the attacker on her phone. He tried to cover his face and fled the bus three stops later.
The man is described as Asian, mid-30s, with a dark beard and wearing a black beanie hat. He had on a black jacket with purple lining, a brown jumper over a light shirt, and carried a black rucksack.
Suspect Linked to Earlier Bus Attack
Officers believe this creep is tied to a similar attack on 19 January 2015 at 5.50pm, on a route 25 bus in Stratford.
Detective Constable Julia Coney, Met’s Road & Transport Policing Command, said: “This man is wanted in connection with at least two sexual assaults on buses. We will not tolerate this behaviour. Anyone who has experienced this type of crime should come forward and report it. If you recognise him or have any information, call 101 and quote CAD 6414/21Jan18.”
Police urge anyone with info to step up and help bring this attacker to justice.
