Brighton Woman Attacked with Noxious Substance in Shocking Assault
Sussex Police have released images of a suspect wanted in connection with a noxious substance attack in Brighton. The shocking incident happened around 4:20pm on Thursday, 20 May, outside a property on Steine Gardens.
Victim in Her 20s Left With Potentially Life-Changing Injuries
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was rushed to hospital where she remains seriously ill with potentially life-changing injuries. Witnesses described the attacker as a black woman, about 5’6” tall, carrying a blue rucksack and wearing a face visor.
Police Hunt Suspect Spotted Fleeing Near Princes Street
Brighton and Hove Chief Inspector Nick Dias said: “Our officers continue tirelessly to identify the suspect and ensure an arrest is made. We need your help in identifying the person in the footage, do you recognise them?”
“We believe the suspect fled towards Princes Street, then on to the seafront. Anyone who saw suspicious behaviour between 3pm and 5pm on Thursday, 20 May in this area is urged to come forward.”
Patrols have been stepped up as police appeal for witnesses to speak up. Anyone with information should report online or call 101, quoting Operation Overstone.
