Hastings Police Hunt Man Over Shocking Sexual Assault
Police in Hastings have launched a fresh appeal after a woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight on Queen’s Road. A new CCTV image has been released showing a man they urgently want to question.
Chilling Daytime Attack Near Bus Stops
The incident happened just after 2pm on 12 February, close to the Priory Meadow bus stops in the town centre. The victim, a local woman, was approached from behind by a stranger who touched her inappropriately. She was left traumatised and is now receiving support from trained officers.
New CCTV Image Released – Man Described in Detail
After ruling out a previous suspect, Sussex Police have put forward a fresh CCTV picture of a man believed linked to the assault. He is described as a late 30s to 40s man with a grey beard. At the time, he wore:
- A purple baseball cap worn backwards, with ‘BOY’ in white letters
- A long black overcoat layered over a black jacket and light fleece
- Black trousers or tracksuit bottoms
- White trainers featuring gold and blue trim
- Carrying a grey rucksack

Detectives are urging anyone who recognises this man or saw anything suspicious near Queen’s Road on 12 February to come forward immediately. Officers are particularly interested in dashcam or CCTV footage that might help crack the case.
