Massive Blaze Rages at Chatham Docks – Residents Urged to Stay Safe
A huge fire has erupted at Chatham Docks, keeping fire crews on high alert well into the day. Locals have been told to keep all windows and doors shut as smoke billows across the area.
Firefighters Battle Blaze Around the Clock
The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. on June 25, sparking a rapid response from Kent Fire and Rescue. Ten fire engines, along with specialist units including a bulk water carrier and a technical rescue team, are tackling the flames.
Smoke from the blaze is visible miles away, prompting a surge of emergency calls. Kent Fire and Rescue reassured the public: “Due to the volume of 999 calls, we want to thank the public and state we are aware of this incident.”
High-Tech Assault on the Fire
Crews have surrounded the burning warehouse and are attacking it from both the ground and air. Hose reels, main jets, and ground monitors are all in use, with firefighters making “good progress” in bringing the inferno under control.
No Injuries So Far; Cause Unknown
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation as emergency services continue to work on extinguishing the massive blaze.
