Brave Locals Drive Off Yobs Hurling Catapults at Wildlife in St Paul’s Cray Park

Residents in St Paul’s Cray have had enough of mindless youths attacking geese with catapults. After a week of enjoying peaceful scenes of goslings and their protective parents near the Bull Pub, locals were horrified to find several badly injured birds needing urgent help from the RSPCA.

Vicious Attacks Spark Outrage

One witness spotted suspicious youths lurking in the woods near the park. Trusting their gut, they followed the group and saw one boy tormenting a goose. When confronted, the attackers fled, but the poor goose was left bleeding heavily from its head and wing.

“It was pouring with blood,” the witness said. “We tried to catch the goose, but it’s likely to die from its wounds.”

Same Gang Caught Before, Still Escalating

This wasn’t a one-off. Earlier the same evening, around six boys — and possibly eleven in total — had been seen carrying catapults and scaring wildlife. A local resident had already scared them off, but the cruel group regrouped and carried on their brutal spree for over an hour.

Shocked neighbours recall previous incidents and signs warning rock-throwing teens that they were being watched. The police and animal welfare groups have been informed, as these deliberate, weapon-based attacks can’t be ignored.

Community on High Alert

“If you know your child has a catapult and visits the park, warn them now,” urged a resident. Multiple locals have banded together to monitor the area and protect the wildlife from further harm.

This savage cruelty has struck a nerve. The fight to save the beloved geese is far from over.
