Newborn Baby Found Dead in Bag Outside Notting Hill Church

A shocking and heartbreaking discovery rocked west London today after the body of a newborn baby was found in a bag beside a bin outside All Saints’ Church in Notting Hill.

Street Cleaner’s Grim Find Sparks Urgent Police Probe

The tragic discovery came at around 12:46pm when a street cleaner sweeping leaves near Talbot Road spotted a heavy plastic bag by a bin. Upon picking it up, the cleaner realised something was wrong and alerted emergency services.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene but the infant was sadly pronounced dead. Police have since set up a forensic tent and cordoned off the area, blocking access from Clydesdale Road, Colville Gardens, and Powys Square.

Police Urge Baby’s Mother to Come Forward – Medical Help Awaits

The Metropolitan Police have launched a desperate appeal to find the mother, who may have given birth recently and could be in urgent need of medical help.

“This is an extremely sad and shocking matter,” said Superintendent Owen Renowden. “Our immediate priority is to locate the baby’s mother. If you are reading this, please come forward to police or medical professionals. We understand you may be frightened, but it’s vital you get the support you need. You can walk into any hospital or police station.”

Community Reacts with Shock and Sympathy

Local residents have expressed shock and sadness at the tragic event.

“A binman found the body after realising the bag was too heavy. It’s horrible. But you don’t know what situation the mother was in,” a local witness said.

Kensington and Bayswater MP Joe Powell also urged anyone with information to contact police, pledging full support for the investigation.
