Sheep Remains Dumped Across Halstead and Chevening
Farmers in Kent have been left horrified after six sheep carcasses were found scattered in a garden on Otford Lane, Halstead. That’s not all – the hides and entrails of two more sheep were later discovered dumped in a layby on Ovenden Road, Sundridge. The bizarre and grisly incidents happened between Friday 24 and Wednesday 29 November 2023.
Police Launch Full Investigation
Kent Police are on the case. They’re working hard to trace the owners of the sheep and hunt down whoever’s responsible for the brutal slaughters. Officers are stepping up patrols in the area to crack down on this chilling crime.

‘Abhorrent Crime’ – Police Plea
PC Marc Pennicott from Kent Police’s Rural Task Force said: “The theft of so many sheep and the way they were killed is abhorrent. Our dedicated Rural Task Force is working relentlessly to identify the suspect or suspects and take robust action against them.”
He added, “Kent is home to vast expanses of rural land. The force prioritises protecting its rural communities and works closely with partner agencies to bring those who offend in the countryside to justice.”
