Fake stabbing scare sparks panic at Brentside School – headteacher sets the record straight
False stabbing rumour spreads like wildfire
A shocking claim that a teacher had been stabbed at Brentside High in west London has been slammed as complete nonsense. The rumour exploded on Snapchat and other social media, stirring up fear among pupils and parents alike.
Headteacher hits back at fake news
Arwel Jones, Brentside’s Headteacher, quickly dismissed the story as “totally untrue.” He confirmed the school launched an investigation to trace how the rumour began.
“We intend to get to the bottom of the matter and how it was started. I can assure you no one has been stabbed,” said Mr Jones.
The real incident: pupil falls ill in school canteen
Paramedics did attend the school, but it was for a pupil who had fallen ill inside the canteen – nothing violent took place.
Social media post fuels panic
The original image causing alarm was uploaded by a user named Shilleee, captioned simply: “only in BHS ‘Teacher been stabbed’.” The headteacher urges the school community to ignore false information and remain calm.
