Lifesaving Defibrillator Stolen in Morden Sparks Outrage
Tears and fury erupt as Morden town centre’s vital defibrillator cabinet is stolen. The equipment owner is heartbroken, scrambling to reset the cabinet code while facing the harsh truth: someone has nicked a lifesaving device.
“Sometimes I hate this world,” they vent. “My late dad, a proud Londoner, would be crushed. He was kind and good. It’s heartbreaking he’s gone while scumbags roam free and cause harm.”
Why This Defibrillator Is a Lifesaver
- Morden’s only 24/7 accessible heart emergency kit.
- Used twice a month on average to save lives.
- Its theft puts the whole community at risk during cardiac arrests.
The defibrillator was donated by a charity set up in memory of Paul Parish. Their mission? Raise awareness, deliver free basic life support (BLS) training, and install public defibs and bleed kits across Greater London.
So far, they’ve trained 2,485 locals and installed 54 kits, which have assisted in 140 emergencies. Without this kit, Morden’s emergency response suffers a massive blow.
Call to Action: Help Replace the Stolen Defibrillator
The charity is urgently appealing for donations to replace the stolen defib and bleed control kit — and to add a second lifesaver to Morden’s seriously under-equipped streets.
“Every penny raised will bring lifesaving kit back to where it’s desperately needed,” the organiser explained. “If we surpass our target, extra funds will help install another defibrillator in Morden.”
They added, “It’s a tough and costly time for everyone, but saving a life is priceless. Please chip in if you can.”
