Fire Razes London Maisonette Above Shops
A three-room, split-level maisonette on the second and third floors was gutted by fire last night. Seven residents from a neighbouring property evacuated safely before firefighters arrived. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Blaze Rips Through Bedroom and Loft
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson revealed: “On arrival, crews found a well-developed fire in a maisonette above a parade of shops. Smoke was billowing from upper-floor windows.”
They added, “The fire started in a bedroom on the lower floor and quickly spread up the stairs into the loft space.”
Firefighters Battle Flames for Nearly an Hour
- The Brigade received the call at 8.11pm.
- The blaze was brought under control by 9.40pm.
- Crews from Twickenham, Heston, and Feltham rushed to the scene.
Cause of Fire Under Investigation
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police are probing the cause of the blaze. Meanwhile, residents count themselves lucky to have escaped without harm.
