Fatal Collision at Cross in Hand
A 32-year-old man tragically died in a serious crash on the A267 at Cross in Hand early Tuesday morning (1 October). The smash, involving a northbound sewage tanker and a southbound black Ford Focus, happened near the Mayfield Flat junction at around 7am.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics arrived quickly but could not save the Ford Focus driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, with specialist police officers providing support during this devastating time.
Three Passengers Seriously Injured
- A 24-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
- A 22-year-old man suffered serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
All three passengers are also from east London.
Sewage Tanker Driver Minor Injuries
The driver of the sewage tanker escaped with minor injuries.
Police Launch Investigation – Appeal for Witnesses
Sussex Police have opened an investigation and are hunting for witnesses or dash cam footage to piece together what happened.
