Fatal Crash on A27: Two Dead, One Injured
Tragedy struck the A27 near Ashcombe roundabout around 10.20pm on Friday, April 30, as a three-vehicle collision left two men dead and one seriously injured.
Deadly Smash Involved Two Audis and Transit Van
The crash involved a black Audi S5, a silver Audi TT, and a silver Ford Transit van. The two men in the Audi S5 – a 39-year-old from Lewes and a 33-year-old from Brighton – were rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital but later died from their injuries. Their families have been informed.
The Ford Transit driver suffered serious injuries but remains stable in hospital.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers investigating the crash want anyone who saw the collision or the Audis beforehand to come forward. They are especially keen to hear about a possible white Audi S3 that may have been travelling with the other vehicles.
Witnesses or those with dashcam footage should email the police, quoting “Operation Woodman.”
Two Men Arrested Over Deadly Crash
A 30-year-old Lewes man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and drug possession. Another 29-year-old man from Lewes faces the same charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
