Teens Arrested After Knife Attack in Bilsthorpe

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested following a knifing incident in The Green, Bilsthorpe, Newark. The attack happened around 5.10pm on Saturday, 12 March 2022.

Both victims needed hospital treatment but, luckily, neither suffered life-threatening or life-altering injuries.

Serious Crime Shakes Local Community

The two suspects remain in police custody, held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This is quite clearly a very serious incident which, due to sheer luck only, thankfully hasn’t ended in tragedy and with two teenage boys sustaining much more serious injuries.”

Police Promise to Tackle Knife Crime

DS Dumbrell added: “We are absolutely committed as a force to eradicating incidents of knife crime from our communities and to taking anyone who gets involved in this kind of behaviour off our streets.”

He urged any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police immediately on 101, quoting incident number 502 of 12 March 2022.
