Deadly Crash on A40 After Police Pursuit in Harrow
An investigation is underway after a fatal smash on the A40 late Sunday night.
Aggravated Burglary Sparks Police Chase
At around 8.40pm on 10 February, officers were called to an aggravated burglary at a home in Harrow. A vehicle pursuit quickly followed, with police teams joined by a helicopter in the hunt.
Wrong-Way Crash With Coach Kills Two
By 9pm, the pursued car veered onto the wrong side of the A40 near Kingsdown Avenue, W3. Police vehicles did not follow the dangerous manoeuvre. Moments later, the car crashed head-on with a coach.
Three people were inside the car. Two – one male and one female – were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The third male occupant was rushed to hospital; his condition is currently unknown. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported among others involved.
Emergency Services and Official Probes Ongoing
- London Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade remain at the scene.
- Road closures are still in place, causing delays.
- The Directorate of Professional Standards and Independent Office for Police Conduct have been notified and are investigating.
