Teen Stabbed to Death in Broad Daylight at East Croydon Station
Detectives have named the tragic victim of a shocking stabbing at East Croydon station: a 16-year-old boy believed to be Louis Johnson.
Brutal Attack Unfolded in Seconds
Police were called to the station at 4.45pm yesterday after Louis was stabbed on the overbridge inside the busy station. Witnesses say the suspect pulled a knife moments after confronting Louis, who had just entered the station through the Ruskin Square ticket barrier around 4.30pm. Louis sadly died shortly after the assault.
The heartbreaking attack lasted less than a minute. A post-mortem is scheduled to determine the full cause of death.
Family Devastated as Police Launch Hunt
Louis’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. So far, no arrests have been made. Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the stabbing—or has phone or dashcam footage from the area—to come forward immediately.
“This was a senseless killing at an extremely busy time of the day. My thoughts are with Louis’s family at this painfully difficult time,” said Detective Chief Inspector Sam Blackburn. “We need witnesses to step up—every bit of information could help. The incident was over in 40 seconds but someone out there must have seen something.”
